The Manhattan Beach Food Tour is so excited to officially be open for business! Our first tour begins Friday, June 1st (click here to book) and we cannot wait to share the love of our beautiful hometown and its delicious food with people from near and far. We believe food connects people, therefore, one of the best ways to connect to a place is through its food. Here are just a few reasons why we believe both tourists and locals should book a food tour!

For Tourists:

1. Get Insider Knowledge & Travel Tips

We always recommend taking a food tour on the first full day of your trip. Why? Then you will know the best places to eat, drink, and explore for the rest of your time there! Most food tours are guided by locals (ours certainly are!) who are experts in the area. Use them as a resource to help plan the rest of your vacation. Not only will you discover amazing places on your food tour, but chances are that your guide will be happy to answer any questions to help make your stay there the best it can possibly be!

2. Meet Other Foodies

Whether you’re traveling solo or with friends, going on a food tour is a great way to meet like-minded people. Like we said before, food is a great connector and conversation starter. You never know what kind of people you will meet from around the world on a food tour. Believe it or not, you can get to know people really well over an incredible meal! Don’t be surprised if you leave a food tour with a new friend or two.

3. A Great Use of Time

In a perfect world, we would not have to limit our vacation time. But more often than not, travelers try and squeeze way too much in to a short amount of time. Going on a food tour allows you to make the most of your precious time. 99.9% of the time, a food tour is not just about food. For example, on the Manhattan Beach Food Tour, you will eat a variety of cuisines while learning about the local history, California food trends, the backstory on family-run businesses and the most picturesque spots to take memorable photos. Food tours combine history, sightseeing and delicious food, which is why it is one of the greatest uses of your time while on vacation!

For Locals:

4. Exploring Your Own Backyard

How often do you think Parisians visit the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre Museum? Way too often than not, locals don’t appreciate what is in their very own backyard. Even if you’ve grown up in Southern California, going on an experience like the Manhattan Beach Food Tour is such a fun way to play tourist for the day! You might think you’ve seen and heard it all, but chances are, you will learn something new or discover a new favorite dish.

5. A Unique Date or Special Occasion Idea

If you are looking for an alternative to the standard dinner and movie date idea, look no further than a food tour! We’d also recommend a food tour as a way to celebrate a birthday or any special occasion with a group. Food tours are still fairly new in the food and tourism industry. Choosing to go on a unique and interactive activity with your loved ones is the best way to create lifelong memories.

6. Support Local Businesses

Last, but certainly not least, going on a a food tour is an amazing way to support locally owned and family-run businesses. Like most food tours out there, the Manhattan Beach Food Tour does not take its guests to any chain restaurants. We want to share with you the hidden gems and beloved places that have been around for many years. Our hope is that you will form a deeper connection to these restaurants, try something new, and return with friends and family for years to come.

So what are you waiting for? Book a spot on one of our upcoming Manhattan Beach Food Tours!
